Save Our Music Programs

Do you think it’s important for your kids to play sports? How about music?

I believe that music benefits our kids, and I strongly encourage parents to support funding for school music programs.  They help our children in more ways than many people know or acknowledge. For one man’s knowledgeable perspective, watch this video:

What an Entrance!

I know that I’m a bit late to this party, but this video made me smile so much that I felt compelled to share it with my readers.

John Mayer Wins More Grammy Awards

Congratulations to John Mayer for winning best pop male vocal for Say and best rock vocal for (my personal favorite) Gravity.

My regular readers know how much I like John Mayer, especially when I’ve seen him in concert, but I’ve never seen him quite like this:

The best part begins at 8:45 when he starts singing Paul McCartney, Cindy Lauper, Madonna and more. What a great sport. I bet he likes board games.

Watch the video below to see him singing with Ellen in the “bathroom.”

The Guitarist Who Reinvented the Blues – John Mayer

John Mayer - 2008

John Mayer – live in concert 2008

Someone told John Mayer that he’s “the guy who reinvented the blues.” But he humbly deflected the compliment, insisting that if anyone gets credit for reinventing the blues it would be his listeners (presumably by helping him figure out what we all want to hear)…

The point? This man, this artist, is no Jack Johnson (not that there’s anything wrong with Jack Johnson). More on my thoughts about his work later… or you can read my post from last fall.
